Good morning. I would like to express our sincere welcome to Mr. Philip Ronald Draper and 10 students.

First of all I will introduce our school, Eishin Junior-Senior High School.

Our school, founded 104 years ago, is a private junior-senior high school that has more than 1,200 students. Almost all of them go to universities or colleges for higher education.

The region where we live is called Hiroshima prefecture.
And Hiroshima is known as the first city in the world that was hit by an atomic bomb.
It is now reborn as a city of peace that is always appealing for world peace.

We symbolize our school theme and slogan in three words, “ Peace, Humanity and the Environment.” That is we wish for peace, mutual respect for human beings, and protecting the environment.

Each year we carry out field work in Asia, and this year 227 students in the fifth grade visited Malaysia in August for intercultural communication and mutual understanding. Also 150 students in the third grade made a trip to China for 5days in March.

In this way we think it important to learn about different cultures and various ideas for further development in order to live together peacefully.

The former Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, promised to invite students and teachers from the East Asian countries and countries around the Pacific Region to Japan for the Jenesys program, Japan-East Asia Network of Exchangefor Students and Youths.

Last December a teacher and 10 students from Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines and Thailand visited our school as a proof of this program.

And today another 10 students and a teacher are here in our school and are going to have the same opportunity to meet and exchange ideas.

Our students are now taking the final examinations that are important for their future and so I'm sorry to say that they may not have so much time to spend with you in school.

I believe mutual understanding will be brought about from knowing and respecting each other and that this will someday lead to peace over the world.

I hope that all of you will have a good time and pleasant experiences during your time here.

ドレーパー先生のあいさつ

鎌刈理事長先生、立石校長先生、長谷川教頭先生、猪原教頭先生、そして盈進中学高等学校のみなさん、
こんにちは。私の名前はフィル・ドレーパーです。私はクーナバラブラン高校の社会科学の主任をしています。私たちの学校はオーストラリア・シドニーから北西５００ｋｍほどのところに位置しています。
本日、私と共にインドネシア、マレーシア、ニュージーランド、タイ、インド、フィリピン、そしてオーストラリアの国々から１０名の生徒がこの盈進に来校させて頂いています。私たちは６００名の生徒と60名の教員からなるグループの一員であり、日本の皆様と様々な文化交流が行えるジェネシス・プログラムに属し、今回盈進に交換留学で来校させて頂く運びとなりました。このプログラムは安倍前総理の下、日本とアジア諸国とのよりよい関係を築き上げ、相互理解を深めていくことを目的として立ち上げられました。

本日は皆様方の心温まる歓迎を受け、本当に感謝しております。
私たちは先日学校内で目にしたこと、生徒や教職員、皆様方の温かい迎え入れ、そして親しみやすい人柄や、その礼儀正しさに感銘を受けています。
私たちは、日本の日々の生活や文化、歴史、そして「ひと」そのものを様々な観点から学んでいこうと思っています。今日ここにいる留学生たちをどうか皆様方の日々の生活の中へ参加させて頂き、様々な助言をしてくだされば…と願ってやみません。
この度、私たちの為に広く心を開いてくださり、また快く受け入れてくださった、ホスト・ファミリーの皆様方、本当にありがとうございます。その寛容さもまた深く心に染みています。
私たちは今日からこの盈進で、そしてこの福山で様々な活動に参加させて頂けることを本当に楽しみにしています。そして、今この場で皆様方とお会いでき、来校させていただける事に対しても、深く感謝しています。また教室や、学食、校内、学校行事やスポーツ活動などを通じて今日からできるだけ多くの人々と出会える機会が持てることにも感謝しつつ、またワクワクしています。短い期間ですが、この期間で相互に交流を行うことによって私たちの日本語、そして皆様の英語能力が向上することを望み、かつお互いの理解と感謝しあう気持ちを持てればと考えています。本日は本当にありがとうございました。
最後に心ばかりの感謝の気持ちを表しつまらないものですが贈呈させていただきます。と共に、この後頂ける記念品に関しても深くお礼を申し上げます。

ステーシーさんのあいさつ

皆さん、こんにちは。ご機嫌いかがですか。私の名前のステーシーです。
私たちは盈進生の皆さんの尊敬すべき礼儀の正しさに驚きつつ、本当に感心しています。
私たちはアメリカン・フィールド・サービス、省略してＡＦＳの代表として本日、ここ盈進にやってきました。私たちは日本で２週間のホームステイを行うジェネシスと呼ばれるプログラムでここに来ています。
アジア・太平洋の様々な国々から600人の生徒と60人の教員が日本を訪れています。
私たちは日本の文化、そして言葉を学び、相互の国際関係をよりよく進展させていくために今日、この場にいます。オーストラリア、ニュージーランド、マレーシア、タイ、インドネシア、フィリピンそしてインドから１０名の生徒が来校しています。今までのところ、神戸、京都、そして広島での研修を行ってきました。
そしてここでのホームステイの後、東京での研修もあわせて楽しみにしています。
ＡＦＳの生徒を代表して、私たちを心より受け入れてくださるご家庭と今日ここにおられる皆様に心より感謝の気持ちを表したいと思います。
本当にありがとうございます。私たちはこのプログラムを通じて皆様から日本の文化や言葉そして宗教の違いなど様々なことを吸収していければと思っています。
ここにいるほとんんどの人が日本語をうまく話せません。どこに行けばいいのか、なにをすればいいのかなど、どうぞ困っている時には手助けをしてください。皆様方の温かいご支援とご理解をありがたくおもっております。本日は貴重なお時間をお割き頂き、ステキな歓迎をしてくださったこと心より感謝しております。
